Biological Enhancements
These fragments are representative of elements that are commonly found. Starmeink can have up to three stones and three stone types. They can also have less or no stones at all.
specifics
If a starmeink has two sorts of stones but three on its back, one of them will be stronger. For example: fire stone, ice stone, and fire stone. The fire stone would be the strongest element. If a starmeink has three stones of the same type, they will be a master of that element.
In general, stone power hues must stay in that assigned color. For instance, fire stone must be red, not pink. It can however be a lighter or darker shade.
To help with their element manipulation, every Starmeink possess a little amount of psychic power (without a stone).
STONE TYPES
The Fire Fragment channels stellar heat through the Starmeink’s core, allowing flames to erupt from their palms and mouth. These flames burn hotter than normal fire and can shift color depending on emotional state.
Fire-aligned Starmeink develop natural heat resistance, allowing them to survive volcanic regions, arid climates, or atmospheric reentry-like conditions for short periods.
The Nature Fragment resonates with life-force itself and manifests in two divergent magical paths, determined at first awakening.
Nature Flow
Allows plant life to grow directly from the Starmeink’s palms - vines, flowers, roots, or even massive trees. Growth speed and complexity increase with mastery.
Shapeshifting
Grants the ability to shapeshift into feral animals, usually reflecting the Starmeink’s personality. These are not feral starmeink! Forms are biologically accurate but enhanced slightly by cosmic energy.
With practice and dedication, a full nature-based starmeink can learn both paths.
The Earth Fragment binds the Starmeink to planetary mass. Power flows only while maintaining contact with the ground through palms or tail, anchoring them to the terrain.
Earth-aligned Starmeink tend to be heavier, sturdier, and harder to knock back.
Shapeshifting
Grants the ability to shapeshift into feral animals, usually reflecting the Starmeink’s personality. These are not feral starmeink! Forms are biologically accurate but enhanced slightly by cosmic energy. The difference between the Nature stone's shapeshifting and the Earth stone's shapeshifting is that these forms are made entirely of rock or natural materials.
The Ocean Fragment creates and manipulates water drawn from atmospheric moisture, or surroundings. Water summoned is pure and slightly luminescent.
Starmeink bonded to this fragment can breathe underwater for extended periods and adapt to extreme pressure.
These stones are more likely to have aquatic looking traits physically. It is not required, just more common.
The Static Fragment generates and manipulates electrical charges, producing arcs of electricity, electromagnetic pulses, and concentrated bursts of static energy. The electricity created by the fragment usually appears as blue, yellow, violet, or white sparks.
Starmeink bonded to this fragment have heightened electrical sensitivity and can detect changes in electromagnetic fields around them. They can also tolerate electrical shocks that would seriously harm an ordinary Starmeink.
These stones are more likely to produce physically energetic or "charged" looking traits. Fur may stand up slightly, glow with tiny sparks, or produce a faint crackling sound. It is not required, just more common.
The Air Fragment creates and manipulates wind, pressure, and surrounding air. Rather than creating air from nothing, the fragment primarily moves and compresses the atmosphere around its user.
Starmeink bonded to this fragment have exceptionally efficient lungs and can withstand sudden changes in air pressure. Their bodies are sometimes naturally lighter and more responsive to changes in airflow.
These stones are more likely to produce physically lightweight, feathered, wing-like, or "lighter" traits. Some Starmeink may develop tails with feathers, small feathers on their body, and up to two pairs of wings on their back. It is not required, just more common to see.
The Ice Fragment creates and manipulates ice by rapidly drawing heat from water and surrounding matter. Ice produced by the fragment is dense and often possesses a faint blue, white, or crystalline appearance.
Starmeink bonded to this fragment have increased resistance to cold and can maintain their body temperature in freezing environments. Their bodies also recover more efficiently from prolonged exposure to low temperatures.
These stones are more likely to produce crystalline, frosted, pale, or winter-like physical traits. Fur may naturally feel cold to the touch, and some Starmeink develop ice-like claws, horns, or markings. It is not required, just more common.
The Venom/Poison Fragment allows a Starmeink to create, manipulate, and weaponize venom/poison. Unlike ordinary biological poisons or venoms, Fragment Venom is partially psychic in nature and can be altered by its user's intent.
Venom can be produced through saliva glands, claws, fangs, or other natural methods depending on the Starmeink's physical traits. It may appear as a liquid, mist, coating, goo, saliva, or glowing substance.
Starmeink bonded to this fragment develop increased resistance to poisons and toxins, including their own venom.
These stones are more likely to produce physically venomous traits such as oversized fangs, sharper claws, unusual pupils, warning / neon colors, or toxin-secreting markings. It is not required, just more common.
RARE STONES
These fragments are representative of elements that are not commonly found. These fragment colors should not be used on common or uncommon starmeink. These can be given through rare myos, raffles, events, and earned through other misc avenues.
Starmeink are only able to have one rare stone but they may be combined with commonly found stones.
THE BIG THREE
The Shadow Fragment (also known as Calimtra's Soul) is an exceptionally rare fragment associated with death, remains, and the boundary between life and death. A Starmeink bonded to it can impose its psychic will upon the dead, temporarily turning corpses and skeletal remains into puppets.
The fragment also allows the Starmeink's body to continue functioning despite extreme physical damage. Wounds that would normally be immediately incapacitating may be endured, even when bone is exposed or large sections of flesh are missing.
These stones are exceptionally rare, and Starmeink born with one are often physically unusual. Skeletal features, darkened or faded coloration, hollow-looking eyes, exposed bones, unusual shadows, or other death-like traits are more common. These traits are not required.
These stones stay pure black or close to, with no color alteration.
The Sight Fragment (also known as "Rimalia's Sight) is an exceptionally rare psychic fragment that dramatically amplifies a Starmeink's ability to perceive and interact with minds.
Unlike ordinary psychic abilities, a Sight Stone allows its bearer to establish direct mental communication with other living beings. Thoughts, words, emotions, and even simple sensory impressions can be transmitted without sound.
Sight Stones are extremely uncommon, and their abilities tend to manifest differently from one Starmeink to another.
These stones are more likely to produce unusual eyes or perception-related traits. A Starmeink may have glowing pupils, floating disconnected traits, unusual irises, multiple colors within the eyes, markings around the face, or an intense awareness of their surroundings. It is not required.
These stones stay pure white colors, with no color alteration.
The Heart Fragment (also known as "Lorelei's Heart") is an exceptionally rare fragment associated with life, vitality, and the transfer of energy between living beings.
A Starmeink bonded to a Heart Stone can accelerate another living creature's natural healing process by transferring a portion of its own energy into them. The fragment does not create limitless healing energy - the healer is effectively giving part of themselves to keep another alive.
The greater the injury, the greater the cost.
These stones are rare enough that most Starmeink will never encounter a Heart Starmeink. Their physical traits are often subtle, but warm coloration, glowing markings, unusually vibrant eyes, or faintly luminous fur are more common. These traits are not required.
These stones stay pure grey colors, with no color alteration.
